What is Kit?
Kit is your own personal kit.
It must include:
Top half Scout Uniform
Warm walking trousers - never wear jeans, if they get wet you will end up cold and sore and they will take ages to dry.
Hiking Boots - must go above your ankle. You could buy leather boots which might need wearing for a few weeks before they get comfortable. Or you could buy some of the newer lightweight materials (but remember that they will not be waterproof.
Rucksack. Try several before you buy one. A size of between 45 and 65 litres
Sleeping bag - 3/4 seasons if you are camping early or late in the year.
Small bed roll. Try to get a small blow up bed. NOT a lino type bed.
1 change of clothes
Toothpaste and toothpaste
Be honest - you probably will not need and soap or towels
Toilet paper - get your favourite colour!
A hat, sun hat if you are hiking in summer, or a warm hat in the spring or winter
A sweatshirt
Waterproof coat and trousers. (Some people hate waterproof trousers simply because they make you sweat because your sweat does not evaporate. In that basis waterproof trousers make you wet!)
First Aid Kit
Emergency rations kit
What is Equipment?
Equipment are the things that you share between your team.
They include:
Tents
Stoves
