SCIDOM 2005 On-line Diary.

Day:    Wednesday

Date:    1st June 2005.

After 3 days of activities, the camp travelled by coach approximately 10 miles to the town of Le Begue and the attraction of Le Village du Bournat. The information in the brochure said: "Learn about times gone by, and have a lot of fun too. You'll see craftsmen making large objects with simple simple methods, who'll explain how it's all done. You'll find a genuineness that's rare nowadays"

Well that was true!

The fact was... most of the attractions did not open until the 3rd June. Despite that, the Scouts and Explorers spent the day playing on hand powered roundabouts, playing in fairground rides and eating ice cream.

The day trip out was ok, the high light of the day was the donkeys and the plastic horses and I suppose the carousel was ok too. The only problem with the carousel was that it was a death trap. All the rides there you had to work yourself! It was completely deserted as well!!!!! We were there the whole day and at the end just before leaving two of my mates were invested into Explorers; Andrew and Glen. When we got back to the site we were all relieved that we weren’t there any longer.

It was quite good, The explorers liked the blue ducks and a the ramdomn plastic frog was cool. The geese were good to sike out and we could make stupid noises at them and wind them up. None of the rides were working except for one which was hand powered by a Will with the help of Explorers pushing.

Today we were taken on a surprise day out to a mediaeval village with fairground rides and a huge pond with ducklings that were cute. In all we thought that this was a really cool day out.

It was alright but the amusements were not open and the ones that were open we had to run ourseelves. But it was a good day out. One of the rides was a death trap cos everyone was hurting themselves.

The best bit was buying a really funky pink keyring. The meal was really good at the end.

Today was alright but most of it was shut.

The day out because it was fun. I went on the roundabout. Jonathan fell off.

The best bit was going around the lake were it was peaceful.

The ice creams were nice. The best flavour was Chocolate (2 votes) Lemon (1 vote)

Today we went on a trip to a medieval village thing. It was very good but Coke was a rip off.
